Training
Sell training packages, track sessions, and share progress with owners.
Training packages
Training is sold as packages โ a fixed number of sessions at a flat package price. Packages are configured in Settings โ Training โ Packages. A client buys a package, which is then assigned to a patient. Sessions are booked and recorded against the package, and the remaining session count decreases with each completed session.
Setting up a package
-
Create a package type in Settings
Go to Settings โ Training โ Packages โ + New package. Give it a name (e.g. "Basic Puppy Obedience โ 6 sessions"), set the session count and price, and optionally set an expiry window (e.g. sessions must be used within 90 days of purchase).
-
Sell the package to a client
From the patient's profile or Training module, click + Assign package. Select the package type. An invoice is generated for the package price โ collect payment before the first session if required by your policy.
-
Book sessions
Once a package is assigned, book individual sessions against it from Training โ + New session. Select the patient, the package, the trainer, and the date/time. Sessions appear on the training calendar and the owner's portal.
Recording session progress
-
Open the session at the start of class
From Training โ Today or the patient's profile, open the scheduled session and click Start.
-
Record progress notes
After the session, click Record progress. Add notes about what was covered, how the patient performed, and what to work on before the next session. Notes are visible to clinic staff and can optionally be shared with the owner.
-
Complete the session
Click Mark complete. The session count on the package decrements by one. If this was the last session, the package is marked as completed and the owner receives a summary.
What owners see
Training sessions appear in the owner portal as a timeline of completed and upcoming sessions. Progress notes are shared with owners when the trainer marks them as shareable. Owners can see the remaining session count on their active packages and receive a reminder 24 hours before each scheduled session.
Report cards
Like Boarding, Daycare, and Grooming, Training sessions support report cards โ click + Report card from a session to send the owner a note, demeanor tags, and photos. It's a lighter-weight alternative to a full progress note when you just want to share a quick update.

FAQ

Group sessions appear on the public booking page (if online booking is enabled) and can be booked by multiple clients at once. Each booked patient counts as one session against their respective package.
The package is marked as Expired and unused sessions are forfeited. You can manually extend a package's expiry date from the client's Training tab if needed โ this is at your clinic's discretion and doesn't generate a new invoice automatically.
Yes. A package is assigned to a patient and a package type โ not to a specific trainer. Individual sessions within the package can be assigned to any available trainer when booked.
Yes. Assign a second package of the same type (or a smaller "top-up" package if you create one), or book individual sessions billed per session using a service charge. Individual session charges are configured in Settings โ Training โ Per-session rate.
