Portal FAQ
Common questions about the Chartling owner portal.
Access & login
Check your spam or junk folder. If it's not there, contact your veterinary clinic and ask them to resend the invitation to the email address you want to use.
Invite links expire after 7 days. Ask your clinic to resend — it takes about 30 seconds on their end.
Yes. Go to Account settings → Email → Change email. A verification link is sent to the new address. Until you verify it, your old email stays active. See Account & login.
On the sign-in page, click Forgot password. A reset link is sent to your email. If you signed up with Google, use Continue with Google instead — you don't have a separate Chartling password.
Records
Records appear after the vet signs and finalizes the visit note. Allow up to 48 hours after the appointment. If it still hasn't appeared, contact your clinic.
No. The full SOAP note (subjective, objective, assessment, plan) is an internal clinical document. The portal shows the discharge summary, which contains the diagnosis, instructions, and medications your vet prepared for you.
Your clinic links pets to your account manually. If a pet is missing, contact the clinic and ask them to link the pet's record to your portal account.
Privacy
Only you and authorized staff at your veterinary clinic. Chartling staff do not access your pet's clinical records. Your data is scoped to your clinic — no other clinic can see it.
Yes. All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in an encrypted database. Your login is protected by Supabase Auth. We recommend using a strong password or Google sign-in and signing out when using a shared device.
Contact your veterinary clinic and ask them to remove your portal access. They can deactivate your account, which prevents future logins. Clinical records (visit notes, medications) belong to the clinic and are retained per their records policy regardless of portal access.
Notifications
Chartling sends appointment reminders and clinic communications on behalf of your vet. If you want to stop receiving SMS messages, reply STOP to the message. This opts you out of all SMS from that clinic via Chartling.
Go to Account settings → Notifications and uncheck the types of notifications you don't want. You can disable appointment reminders, new message alerts, and visit record updates independently.
